History of Karaoke
The history of Karaoke started in the latter half of the 1960s. At that time, there was no
Karaoke and the small juke box which was only playing back popular music existed instead of Karaoke. After that, juke box was developed by microphone input which was attached to it and Nichiden Industry suggested the service that customer can sing to the music. As a result, Karaoke rooted in these events.
In 1971, modernistic Karaoke appeared in earnest. Daisuke Inoue who used to be a bandsman invented new juke box named 8 juke. 8 juke was loaded new cassette tape which enable customer to set up a tempo of the music and sing freely. Moreover, Daisuke Inoue begun the rental service of 8 juke for the hotels and restaurants. Therefore, 8 juke was gained popularity among Japanese people. Additionally, evolution of Karaoke was not finished. In the early 1980, Karaoke box was born in town. It was a specialty store which only treat Karaoke and was built in outside. Besides, new Karaoke machine made it possible to sing while seeing lyrics and attached scoring system. There new Karaoke was popular with office worker and it spread nationwide. In 2000, communication Karaoke which was the same as the current style of karaoke was also born. It is called “DAM” and “JOYSOUND” now and it derives music using a dedicated line.
In this way, Karaoke have made progress over the years.
