The present condition of Japanese Karaoke

Karaoke is became widely used in Japan. Figure 1 indicates the changes of the number of participation of the Karaoke and the number of Karaoke rooms in Japan. According to the figure 1, although the number of participation of the Karaoke had increased little by little, the latest date of 2016 is decreasing. Arakane and Kawade (2009, p.10) revealed that singing a song have effects of physical and mental relaxation. Furthermore Kitayama, Tagaya and Matumoto (2015, p.42) said that general Karaoke is simpler than solitary Karaoke. To sum up, Karaoke effects physical or mental conditions of people In Japanese Karaoke box, there are not a lot of Karaoke rooms for one person. Jannkara Takatsuki of the first store where we conducted our field research did not have a single room. This picture is a room for four persons. According to the clerk, it cannot make any profit because usage fee is added by the number of units as distinct from the room unit. In other words, large group use in one room becomes profitable. Customers do not accept food and drink in Japanese Karaoke room.
